First of all, I think CCP is an awesome developer, in terms of customer communication, compared to the norm.
I don't have much experience in this game. At least not enough to join the Hyperbole Extravaganza, concerning the Nullified Improvement... sorry, Unicorn Excrement... I forget. A change was made. In my humble opinion, the UI has to go. And by UI, I mean the entire user interface.
My experience so far, is that everything is so much more dependent on conditioned behavior than logic/common sense. 9 out of 10 times that I log on, my mind is filled with f***, because of little things like, for instance the way missiles are sorted in the inventory, or the fact that someone thought it would be extraordinarily useful to have destination and player-ships in opposite ends of the overview if you happen to like sorting things by icon, while traveling from A to B.
The entire thought of anyone having to have a window open, in order to keep an eye on ammo and/or boosters, strikes me as odd. Wouldn't that be the job of the HUD? Why is there an 'info' and a 'look at' button in the same window as orbit and gtfo? I'm pretty sure, someone smarter than me can whip up a couple of more useful replacements. And why is a window needed at all, to loot a wreck? I'd think that window is ONLY needed if the ship is running out of space.
I digress. Since the user interface is so non-intuitive, and hence conditions people to a certain behaviour - as illogical as it may be - to get the job done, there will probably be an uproar and some 'monumental' hate every time CCP touches it. Other than that, I hope CCP favourites the few levelheaded critics, such as Tippia, Zagdul, the one-armed character that I can't find at the moment, and a few others.
Personally, this Inferno experience has been in the magnitude of 'meh'. Sure, the missiles are sort of nice, and at some point I might find out what Factional Warfare is about. If I hang on that long.
Anyhoo, I just got an idea, which is brilliant in its simplicity. I have dubbed it 'Interieur Unifi+Že'. I will rent a shipping container and place it in the garden. In it I will stuff ALL my belongings along with a wireless camera. I will now have a completely uncluttered home, rest easy knowing that ALL my stuff is in one place, while watching it on my smartphone! |
